A sexy uptake on the classic black T + jeans look featuring the latest fishnets trend.

Big shout out to GJG Denim for destroying and slaying these jeans! I mean...look at those holes! I in love *heart eye emoji*
This denim pair was ideal to introduce to you the first of many outfits I've styled to showcase the latest and most trending trend: FISHNET TIGHTS. As you probably have already seen on Instagram and on the fashion week runway, fishnets are having a HUGE moment this season. And let's be honest, people are KILLIN and SLAYIN it on Instagram with them fishnet tights! You go, ladies.

Fishnet tights are a little tricky in the sense that they can sometimes make an outfit look too Moulin Rouge-y and in the bad kind of way. But if styled correctly, this symbol of risque attitude can add a feminine, classy, sexy, femme fatale touch to any ordinary outfit.

One simple way of incorporating this hot trend is to layer it under distressed jeans showing the waist line of the tights also. Hiking the tights up towards the smallest part of your waist creates a figure slimming look, just like how high-waisted jeans do. When you cinch the waist in an outfit, you create an illusion of an hourglass figure, which is more than welcomed. Always. I paired the look with the perfect basic, thin-strapped, cropped cami top from Forever21 that's easily become a closet staple. As a side note, I wonder how this top would look layered over a long sleeve blouse? Hmm..

I went kind of wild on the necklaces because...well, I felt like it..? This mesh choker, also from Forever21, is perfect with these tights. Matchy-matchy. I finished the look with some platforms that got dirty from the recent rain/mud and a denim jacket for a denim-on-denim look.

One tip for pulling off denim-on-denim:
make sure you pair the same toned (warm vs cool) denim.

There are endless shades of denim blues, but there is a difference in them when it comes to warm vs. cool-toned fabric. When you match denim-on-denim pieces, stay within the same tone family. How can you tell? It's best to compare them side by side and see whether the whites of the frayed pieces appear to have a yellow-tinge to it or have a true blueish white tone to them.

I hope you liked this trendy take on a timeless classic denim-on-denim look! Try out this outfit for the perfect casual date night / weekend attire and put your own spin on it like how I did with the intense choker-layering action. But what do you think of this trend? Is it here to stay? Or will it fade faster than purple dye on bleached hair? Let me know your thoughts below!
