Throwback Thursday: Solo Trip to SF

The weather in LA has been nothing short of conflicting and fickle. Just the other day, it was a warm 75 degrees out with light rain! It felt like a nice, humid, cloudy summer day in the motherland (S. Korea). I guess that's why when I looked through my photo archives, I chose this set shot in San Francisco with Ryan Chua to feature in this #TBT post. Except in this case, it was the opposite.

I know this outfit is not current-season-appropriate. But being that LA has been gloomy the past couple days, I thought it was semi-appropriate. If you're already feeling the summer heat where you live, I'm sure you're already awaiting colder nights. Me on the other hand, can't wait for summer to come on full-swing.

We shot these back in December 2014 when I brought the LA sunshine with me. Haha. I'm kidding. Of course I didn't! Man has no control over nature, but I like to tell myself that because the ensuing days after I left, SF had to deal with a nasty rainstorm all week. Coincidence? Most likely yes.

...But I digress...

The weather was perfect, but got chilly here and there. Typical, fickle SF weather. This turtleneck (also seen in this post here) is a great transitional piece that was great for accommodating both the highs and lows of my venture. That with the rest of the gang made for an effortless look that was not only chic, but super functional. Low kitten heel boots for walking up steep streets, a carry-all messenger bag for all my necessities, a beanie for extra warmth, a subtle yet effectively chic lariat necklace that's my favorite go-to accessory, a simple black bomber jacket, and a contrasting decorative scarf that I can also use to layer up in when necessary.

This was my first time shooting with Ryan (see the other part of this shoot here) and it was cool collaborating with him during this short trip. Being that this was my first solo trip to SF, I really wanted to capture the essence of exploring the city. Much thanks to my awesome hosts who showed me around and helped me understand what a true Old Fashioned taste like at the Sir Frances Drake hotel lobby bar. I had a fantastic time and hope to explore more of it sometime soon!

Stay adventurous, my friends

xoxo Eunice
